Using Shortcuts
Shortcuts are the fastest way to access your team’s knowledge. Instead of remembering long and complex URLs, you type a short and memorable slug, and Lora redirects you instantly to the right destination.
How shortcuts work
Every shortcut has a unique slug in your workspace. When you type that slug, Lora recognizes it and redirects you to the destination URL. For example, entering /handbook
can take you to your HR documentation, while /meeting-room
can open a recurring Zoom link.
If a shortcut is dynamic, you can add parameters when using it. For example, /jira 123
can send you directly to a specific Jira ticket.
Ways to use shortcuts
Shortcuts can be used in several ways depending on your workflow:
Browser address bar
The easiest way is through the Lora browser extension. Type short
followed by a space in your address bar and then the shortcut slug. Autocomplete will suggest matching shortcuts as you type. For example: typing short hr
will suggest /handbook
and /vacation
.
Web app
You can also open shortcuts directly from the Lora web app. Use the search bar to find the shortcut you need and click it to go to the destination.
QR codes
Every shortcut automatically has a QR code that can be scanned from mobile devices. QR codes are great for posters, office doors, equipment labels, or training material. Scanning the code takes you directly to the shortcut’s destination.
Mobile
If you’re on mobile, shortcuts open just like on desktop. Device targeting ensures that links like /download
redirect to the right store — App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android.
Visibility and access
When using shortcuts, access depends on the visibility set when the shortcut was created:
- Workspace shortcuts are available to everyone in your workspace.
- Unlisted shortcuts only work if you have the direct link or QR code.
- Private shortcuts are only visible to you.
If you try to open a shortcut you don’t have access to, you’ll see an error message instead of the redirect.
Examples
/handbook
→ Confluence HR handbook/meeting-room
→ recurring Zoom meeting link/jira 123
→ specific Jira issue/download
→ App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android, desktop installer on macOS/Windows
Using shortcuts quickly becomes second nature, helping your team move faster and stay focused.
