# Lora

> Lora is an internal shortcut platform for teams. It turns messy links into memorable, shareable shortcuts that open from the browser's address bar or app. Teams create workspaces, organize shortcuts into folders with tags, and use plan-dependent analytics. Advanced features include dynamic placeholders, QR codes, dynamic routing by country and platform, masked URLs, and contract-dependent Enterprise rollout services.

Key capabilities:
- Create and manage internal shortcuts with workspace-based organization and instant redirect functionality.
- Organize shortcuts into folders, tag them for discovery, and review plan-dependent activity data and estimated time saved.
- Use dynamic shortcuts with placeholders (e.g. `/jira {ticket}`), QR codes, and dynamic routing that sends visitors to different destinations by country, platform, or both at once.
- Access shortcuts from the browser address bar via the Lora extension's omnibox integration with autocomplete.
- View plan-dependent analytics including recorded opens, estimated time saved, and geographic/device data.
- Collaborate with role-based access control (Owner, Admin, Moderator, Member), shortcut ownership, and invitation workflows.
- Deploy browser extensions at scale, use masked destinations on eligible plans, and integrate through the REST API. Confirm contract-dependent Enterprise services such as managed-device rollout with Lora.
- Eligible plans include personal or workspace-wide analytics, CSV export, and filters for shortcut activity.

## When to use Lora

Reach for Lora when a team needs **shareable internal shortcuts** (go links) that everyone can remember and reach — from the browser address bar at a desk, or a printed QR code on a wall.

**Good fits:**
- Onboarding packs, IT/helpdesk links, and “how do I…?” destinations that change often but should keep stable short URLs
- Non-desktop staff — shop floor, warehouse, retail, care, hospitality — reaching shift plans, vacation requests, sick-leave forms, safety briefings, and HR portals from a phone by scanning a QR code. Access to a Lora shortcut still follows its workspace membership and visibility rules.
- Desk-based teams who want address-bar access with autocomplete: type `short`, press Space, then enter or select the shortcut slug
- Engineering or ops automation that creates shortcuts via the REST API (`POST /v1/shortcuts`); in-browser AI assistants use the WebMCP tools instead (see “WebMCP Tools” below)
- Replacing brittle bookmark collections or SharePoint deep links with memorable shortcut slugs and shareable links

**Not a fit (today):**
- Deciding where documents or wiki pages should *live* — Lora points at the systems that already hold them (SharePoint, Confluence, Drive, HR tools)
- Public marketing sites or customer-facing short links without workspace auth
- Generic URL shortening without team/workspace context

**How agents should call Lora:**
1. Read `https://www.uselora.com/llms.txt` (this file) and `https://api.uselora.com/openapi.json` for the contract.
2. Discover endpoints via `https://www.uselora.com/.well-known/api-catalog` (RFC 9727).
3. Authenticate with a workspace API key (`Authorization: Bearer lora_sk_…`) scoped to the operation (e.g. `shortcuts.write`).
4. Retry `GET` and `DELETE` freely. For `POST` and `PATCH`, send a unique `Idempotency-Key` so a retry does not duplicate the write.

## WebMCP Tools (app.uselora.com)

The Lora web app at https://app.uselora.com registers in-browser WebMCP tools on workspace routes when Chrome WebMCP is enabled (`chrome://flags/#enable-webmcp-testing`, Chromium M146+). Tools are exposed via `document.modelContext` and require an authenticated session.

- `lora_create_shortcut`: Open the create-shortcut dialog pre-filled with a destination URL and optional title, folder (name or 8-char ID from `lora_list_folders`), and visibility (`PRIVATE`, `WORKSPACE`, `UNLISTED`). The user reviews and clicks Create to save — this tool never saves silently.
- `lora_list_folders`: Return folders in the current workspace as `{ id, name }[]`. Read-only; use to discover folders or disambiguate names before calling `lora_create_shortcut`.

The marketing contact form at https://www.uselora.com/contact exposes a declarative WebMCP tool (`contact-lora`) for sending messages to the Lora team. Submission requires user confirmation.
